Dr Martin Fox

Graduating from Monash University in 1977, Dr. Martin Fox is one of our lead Melbourne Doctors.

His post-graduate qualifications include Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Certificate of Travel Health of the International Society of Travel Medicine and is also a member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

As the founder of Southgate Medical Centre, Martin prides himself on guiding his team to ensure only the highest quality care is provided.

Martin is a caring GP with over thirty years’ experience in all aspects of general practice. His special interests include travel medicine, infectious diseases and preventative medicine.

 

Dr Nick Alfieri

Joining our Southgate team in 2008, Nick has become one of our most popular and respected members of our medical team.

Graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Adelaide University in 1994, Nick is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

His special interests include cardiovascular disease risk management and travel medicine.

 

 

 

Dr Kirsty Dunhill

Graduating from Monash University medical school in 1993, Kristy is one of our most hard working Melbourne doctors.

She is a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has completed further training in Women’s Health and Travel Medicine.

After working in Queensland for 15 years Kristy returned to Melbourne in 2009 and now resides at our clinic on a full-time basis.

Kristy’s specific areas of interest include women’s health, pediatrics and travel medicine.

 

Samantha Chiu – Practice Manager/Nurse

Sam holds a double degree in a Bachelor of Nursing and Applied Science (Health Promotion), graduating in 2000. She has extensive experience as a Practice Nurse and enjoys all facets of General Practice, firmly believing in ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ with active patient involvement.

Sam comes with nursing experience in Travel Medicine, Corporate Health, as a Clinical Preceptor for Masters of Nursing students from Melbourne University, Mother Baby Unit, Special Care Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Cosmetic Surgery, as well as General, Colorectal, Urology, and Theatre nursing in major hospital settings.

Sam re joins the team at Southgate Medical Centre as Practice Manager and Nurse, working Monday-Wednesday. When not working, Sam is a mother and loves spending time with her family, is a Melbourne born and bred foodie, enjoys the occasional hike, travelling and getting away from it all.

Melanie Leser – Receptionist

Melanie Leser is one of our Receptionists here at Southgate Health between Tuesdays – Wednesdays. You will find Melanie welcoming patients with a friendly smile, attending incoming phone calls, handling and referring inquiries as well as the day-to-day billing. Melanie has been a receptionist and an executive assistant for over two years at a busy Migration Law Firm. Her experience in running an office and its day-to-day requirements assists Melanie in providing exceptional customer service in attending  to our patient’s everyday needs. Melanie has just completed her bachelor of Law and Arts Degree to which Medical Law and helping others seek access to the law has always been a very strong interest. Melanie enjoys exploring new parts of Victoria’s natural wonders in her spare time with her adorable puppy Mia, German Shepherd cross, and Fiancé.

 

Amanda Ibrahim – Receptionist

Amanda Ibrahim is one of our Receptionists here at Southgate Health on Mondays and Fridays. She has earned her Bachelor of Law and Arts at La Trobe University where she focused heavily on human rights issues. She has worked in an array of areas including as a legal assistant and swimming instructor.

Her role involves greeting patients, attending to daily administrative tasks and checking patients in and out. She is very passionate about fitness, social justice and textile design. In her spare time, she enjoys driving to the beach to enjoy the sun and sand.
