Dr Martin Fox
Dr Martin is the principal of our practice with over thirty years’ experience in all aspects of general practice. His special interests include travel medicine, infectious diseases and preventative medicine.
He has post-graduate qualifications which include the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Certificate of Travel Health of the International Society of Travel Medicine and he is also a member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
He believes the essence of a good GP is being a good listener and sharing information to enable patients to make informed choices about their health.
Dr Kirsty Dunhill
Dr Kirsty has special interests in women’s & children’s health.
After graduating from Monash University medical school in 1993 she worked a number of years in general practice in Queensland and then retuned to Melbourne in 2009
She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has completed post graduate training in both Women’s Health and Travel Medicine.
Kristy takes pride in providing her patients thorough attention and care and adequate time in the consultation in order to attend appropriately to their needs.
Dr Sara Vali
MD, FRACGP, Certificate of Dermatoscopy, Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery
Dr Sara Vali is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2015 and also is a member of Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
She has been practicing medicine since 2008 and has been practicing in Melbourne since 2012.
Sara has special interest in anti-ageing treatments, cosmetic injectables, bruxism treatment (teeth grinding), dermatology, skin cancer medicine including skin checks and photography, skin cancer surgery and management, cryotherapy, minor procedures, implanon insertion and removal, copper IUD and Mirena removal, women’s health, antenatal care, sexual health, weight loss management, preventive health and chronic disease management.
She believes that everyone deserves access to exceptional medical care and strives to offer high standard care to all her patients.
Samantha Chiu – Practice Manager / Nurse Manager
Sam holds a double degree in a Bachelor of Nursing and Applied Science (Health Promotion), graduating in 2000. She has extensive experience as a Practice Nurse and enjoys all facets of General Practice, firmly believing in ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ with active patient involvement.
Sam comes with nursing experience in Travel Medicine, Corporate Health, as a Clinical Preceptor for Masters of Nursing students from Melbourne University, Mother Baby Unit, Special Care Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Cosmetic Surgery, as well as General, Colorectal, Urology, and Theatre nursing in major hospital settings.
Sam joins the team at Southgate Medical Centre as Practice Manager and Nurse, working Monday-Wednesday. When not working, Sam is a mother and loves spending time with her family, is a Melbourne born and bred foodie, enjoys the occasional hike, travelling and getting away from it all.
Cynthia Santos – Clinical Nurse
Cynthia is a Registered Nurse, she completed her hospital based training in the Philippines in 2003. She moved to Australia in 2013 for a better future for her young family and completed the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses course in the same year. She also completed her Nurse Immuniser course in 2016 and is a certified Nurse Cervical Screening Provider. Cynthia is a dedicated and hard worker, willing to help her patients and colleagues in any way that she can. Outside of work, Cynthia loves spending time with her two gorgeous kids and family.

Noriyo joined Southgate Medical Centre team with a great deal of experience. Over the past 20 years, Noriyo has been working as a medical receptionist at various practices in Melbourne.
Having worked in the airline industry in Japan and New Zealand, Noriyo prides herself on providing hospitality and high quality of care consistently.

Freya joined the Southgate team in 2021. She has over 5 years experience in the healthcare industry, ranging from general practice, specialist clinics and rehabilitation. Freya prides herself in being an approachable, friendly person and believes that the most important part of her role is to provide the highest level of care and empathy to each and every patient and ensuring that their experience is always a positive one. In her free time, Freya enjoys going on road trips and exploring all the hidden gems that Victoria had to offer.
Toshi is one of our enthusiastic part-time receptionists. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University. In his spare time Toshi likes to play guitar and spend time with his family. Toshi looks forward to assisting you at Southgate to ensure you have the best experience possible.
