Dr Martin Fox
Graduating from Monash University in 1977, Dr. Martin Fox is one of our lead Melbourne Doctors.
His post-graduate qualifications include Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Certificate of Travel Health of the International Society of Travel Medicine and is also a member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
As the founder of Southgate Medical Centre, Martin prides himself on guiding his team to ensure only the highest quality care is provided.
Martin is a caring GP with over thirty years’ experience in all aspects of general practice. His special interests include travel medicine, infectious diseases and preventative medicine.
Dr Nick Alfieri
Joining our Southgate team in 2008, Nick has become one of our most popular and respected members of our medical team.
Graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Adelaide University in 1994, Nick is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
His special interests include cardiovascular disease risk management and travel medicine.
Dr Kirsty Dunhill
Graduating from Monash University medical school in 1993, Kristy is one of our most hard working Melbourne doctors.
She is a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has completed further training in Women’s Health and Travel Medicine.
After working in Queensland for 15 years Kristy returned to Melbourne in 2009 and now resides at our clinic on a full-time basis.
Kristy’s specific areas of interest include women’s health, pediatrics and travel medicine.
Dr Jeet Garud

Southgate Medical Centre continues to increase their team of medical professionals, and are proud to introduce Dr Jeet Garud.
Jeet has completed his vocational training in General Practice in the United Kingdom, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General practitioners. Not only is Jeet ardent about the prevention and treatment of skin cancer, he is also is currently doing a Masters of Medicine in Skin Cancer (MMed) with the University of Queensland, which is due to be completed by the end of 2019. He currently holds a Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine, a Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery, as well as a Diploma in Dermoscopy. He is also a member of the International Dermoscopy Society.
Jeet has interests in many other aspects of medicine which include:
Men’s health, obstetrics and gynaecology, chronic disease management and is able to perform minor surgical procedures including skin cancer excisions and Implanon insertion/removal.
Jeet also trained in psychiatry for four years before training in general practice and therefore has an excellent knowledge of and a wealth of experience in treating mental health conditions.
Furthermore, Jeet is passionate about teaching medical students and is an honorary lecturer at the University of Melbourne and a GP affiliate at Monash University.
When not working, Jeet enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and travelling.
Introducing our newest female doctor, Dr Natalie Yuen. Natalie trained as a GP in Hong Kong and holds a joint Fellowship of the RACGP & HKCFP. She also holds a Diploma in Child Health and her interests include all aspects of general practice , including women’s health. Natalie speaks fluent Cantonese.
Samantha Chiu – Practice Manager/Nurse
Sam holds a double degree in a Bachelor of Nursing and Applied Science (Health Promotion), graduating in 2000. She has extensive experience as a Practice Nurse and enjoys all facets of General Practice, firmly believing in ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ with active patient involvement.
Sam comes with nursing experience in Travel Medicine, Corporate Health, as a Clinical Preceptor for Masters of Nursing students from Melbourne University, Mother Baby Unit, Special Care Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Cosmetic Surgery, as well as General, Colorectal, Urology, and Theatre nursing in major hospital settings.
Sam re joins the team at Southgate Medical Centre as Practice Manager and Nurse, working Monday-Wednesday. When not working, Sam is a mother and loves spending time with her family, is a Melbourne born and bred foodie, enjoys the occasional hike, travelling and getting away from it all.
Cynthia is a Registered Nurse, she completed her hospital based training in the Philippines in 2003. She moved to Australia in 2013 for a better future for her young family and completed the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses course in the same year. She also completed her Nurse Immuniser course in 2016 and is a certified Nurse Screening Provider. Cynthia is a dedicated and hard worker, willing to help her patients and colleagues in any way that she can. Outside of work, Cynthia loves spending time with her two gorgeous kids and family.

Noriyo joined Southgate Medical Centre team with a great deal of experience. Over the past 18 years, Noriyo has been working as a medical receptionist at various practices in Melbourne.
Having worked in the airline industry in Japan and New Zealand, Noriyo prides herself on providing hospitality and high quality of care consistently.

Domi is one of our part-time receptionists, with 6 years’ experience on the front desk. She has worked in physiotherapy, plastics, dermatology, and is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons). Domi is dedicated to the practice and loves having a laugh with the patients. Outside of work, Domi spends time baking, cooking with her family, and listening to music.
Joining us in 2018, Devan is an avid member of the Southgate team. Devan is a current student at Monash University and is studying a Master of Counter Terrorism and Political Violence. He is also a passionate volunteer leader in the Monash community, and spends his spare time helping with the orientation of new students, while also leading one of the music societies at Monash.
