Dr Martin Fox
MBBS, FRACGP, DRCOG
Dr Martin is the principal of our practice with over thirty years experience in all aspects of general practice. His special interests include travel medicine, infectious diseases and preventative medicine.
He has post-graduate qualifications which include the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Certificate of Travel Health of the International Society of Travel Medicine and he is also a member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
He believes the essence of a good GP is being a good listener and sharing information to enable patients to make informed choices about their health.
Dr Kirsty Dunhill
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Kirsty has special interests in women’s & children’s health.
After graduating from Monash University medical school in 1993 she worked a number of years in general practice in Queensland and then returned to Melbourne in 2009.
She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has completed post graduate training in both women’s health and travel medicine.
Kristy takes pride in providing her patients thorough attention and care and adequate time in the consultation in order to attend appropriately to their needs.
Dr Joseph Abeshouse
Dr Joseph Abeshouse is a General Practice Registrar who graduated from Notre Dame University (Sydney) in 2014 . He previously practiced law in New York for four years before pursuing a career in medicine. After medical school, Joseph spent several years working at Bankstown and Campbelltown Hospitals, where he completed a broad range of hospital rotations in various specialties including Cardiology, Obstetrics, Oncology and Aged Care.
Joseph enjoys all aspects of medicine, and is passionate about engaging with the community across the full spectrum of general practice presentations.
Dr Mulyono Kosasih
MD, M.Med
Dr Mulyono is a non-VR GP with 40 years experience in a wide range of clinical settings. He is highly skilled in treating patients from diverse cultural backgrounds and is dedicated to serving his community.
Dr Mulyono received an award from UNICEF in recognition of his work in East Timor in the early 1980s and has also been involved in the Aboriginal Community Health Service whilst working in rural Victoria.
In addition to general practice, Dr Mulyono has a special interest in cardiovascular disease. He received a scholarship for his cardiology training and research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and University of Melbourne. He has also worked at Epworth and Brunswick Private Hospitals performing exercise nuclear tests in the nuclear cardiology departments.

Dr Damon Ashworth – Psychologist
Damon graduated from Monash University in 2014 with a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.
He has worked in both hospital and clinical settings as a Clinical Psychologist, and most recently, Damon spent 20 months assisting the Vanuatu Government’s Ministry of Health as a Mental Health Specialist under the Australian Volunteer Program.
He has a specific interest in helping adults and adolescents with sleep problems, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, addiction, fatigue and stress.
Damon is passionate about the field of psychology, and applies the latest research findings to help individuals meet their psychological and emotional needs.
Janet Yong – Dietitian
Janet Yong is a dual qualified dietitian and diabetes educator with a decade long of experience in empowering her clients to optimise their health and wellbeing through dietary and lifestyle choices. She is the Founding Director of Holistic Dietetics – Eat Well, Move More & Love Life, a private practice based in Melbourne.
Janet is a big believer that a person’s health encompasses the body, mind and soul, hence she is passionate about helping her clients through a holistic and individually tailored approach. Janet specialises in the management of chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity as well as other conditions such as fertility nutrition including polycystic ovarian syndrome and gestational diabetes. She is committed to provide the best possible care to her clients using evidence based knowledge whilst empowering them to positively take charge of their health.
Outside of work, Janet enjoys cooking and baking for her friends and family. One of her favourite quotes: “Food fuels the body but good, healthy food heals the soul!”
Nursing Team
Samantha Chiu – Practice Manager / Nurse Manager
Sam holds a double degree in a Bachelor of Nursing and Applied Science (Health Promotion), graduating in 2000. She has extensive experience as a Practice Nurse and enjoys all facets of General Practice, firmly believing in ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ with active patient involvement.
Sam comes with nursing experience in Travel Medicine, Corporate Health, as a Clinical Preceptor for Masters of Nursing students from Melbourne University, Mother Baby Unit, Special Care Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Cosmetic Surgery, as well as General, Colorectal, Urology, and Theatre nursing in major hospital settings.
Sam joins the team at Southgate Medical Centre as Practice Manager and Nurse, working Monday-Wednesday. When not working, Sam is a mother and loves spending time with her family, is a Melbourne born and bred foodie, enjoys the occasional hike, travelling and getting away from it all.

Noriyo
Noriyo joined Southgate Medical Centre team with a great deal of experience. Over the past 20 years, Noriyo has been working as a medical receptionist at various practices in Melbourne.
Having worked in the airline industry in Japan and New Zealand, Noriyo prides herself on providing hospitality and high quality of care consistently.

Ellie
Ellie joined the Southgate Medical Centre team in Winter of 2023.
From Ballarat, Ellie has had a wide range of experience in various sectors of the Workforce, helping her build a strong framework to be a successful employee. With 3 years of customer service experience behind her, Ellie is hoping to deliver a high standard of patient care and make all patient visits as smooth as possible.
When not working, Ellie is also studying towards her Bachelors degree in Commerce at the University of Melbourne where she also enjoys competing in Rowing and Netball. Ellie looks forward to meeting you with her bubbly personality.
